Revd Jennifer Brown

Jennifer is the Director of the Cuddesdon School of Theology and Ministry and is Placements Tutor for ordinands on the part-time pathway at Cuddesdon. She is also the study skills tutor for the College. She has experience of both parish ministry and university chaplaincy.

In addition to her role here at Cuddesdon, Jennifer was recently appointed Director of Training for the College of Preachers and is an associate priest in a parish in south Oxfordshire. Prior to ordination, Jennifer worked as a medical writer, and continues to have an interest in science, particularly the relationship between science and faith. From 2014 to 2018 she held the post of Science Missioner in the Churn Benefice in Oxford Diocese. She has degrees in psychology and the psychology of religion. Jennifer has a particular interest in the ways in which religious practice shapes moral thinking and behaviour and is currently pursuing a PhD in this area. Her other interests include liturgy, Christianity and the arts, social justice, the environment, and Christian theology and animal welfare. Jennifer is Secretary of the Science & Religion Forum and an Associate Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics. She has also been a member of the Society for Liturgical Study.
