Ordained Pioneer Ministry is designed for people who are clear that their vocation is to be involved with creating new forms of emerging church, transforming the lives of people who currently have little or no connection with Church.
If you have been selected for training as a pioneer minister, a partnership between Cuddesdon and Church Mission Society (CMS) offers an approved training pathway for you. Alongside CMS's Pioneer Mission Leadership Training delivered at Cowley, Oxford, just a few miles from Cuddesdon, you will also receive training with part-time ordinands at Cuddesdon.
The teaching style is highly interactive and relational. The approach is to enhance people’s practice through the application of academic learning. Students find this transformative, when they are given the space to explore live situations in their own – and in others’ – missional communities.
There is a range of Durham University Common Awards courses on offer, including the Diploma, BA and MA in Mission, Ministry and Theology which are designed to be flexible allowing students to mix and match individual modules. If you have already done some accredited learning, or have equivalent experience, this can be taken into account in the track you follow.
